People of Interest is a non-profit theatre company dedicated to creating theatrical experiences around individual stories, revealing the hidden truths through new original work. Founded in 2014 by theater director Jesca Prudencio, POI has collaborated with theater companies in across the U.S. in New York and California, and internationally in Thailand and the Philippines. POI serves a community of individuals committed to creating work for the people, by the people.

JESCA PRUDENCIO
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR Jesca Prudencio is a director and choreographer focused on creating highly physical productions of new plays, musicals, and documentary theater nationally, and internationally. Directing credits include Anna Moench’s Man of God (East West Players), Will Snider's How To Use a Knife (Mixed Blood), Ben Fisher's Mobile Happiness Bazaar (La Jolla Playhouse's Wow Festival), Calling (La MaMa ETC), and FAN: stories from the brothels of Bangkok (Thailand). Her critically acclaimed productions of Qui Nguyen’s Vietgone and Anna Ziegler’s Actually at San Diego Repertory Theatre received numerous Craig Noel nominations including Outstanding Director. She is a recipient of The Old Vic’s T.S. Eliot US/UK Exchange Fellowship, The Drama League Fellowship, and the inaugural Julie Taymor World Theater Fellowship. Jesca is Artistic Director/Founder of People Of Interest, which is dedicated to creating community specific documentary theater works. IDRIS ADEMOLA
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER / PHOTOGRAPHER Idris Ademola is a photographer, videographer, and founding member of People Of Interest. A native New Yorker, he has focuses on portraiture, editorial work, theater, and documentary work. He has photographed at numerous events including the Full Moon Festival, New York Fashion Week, and Robot Festival, and at theaters such as San Diego Repertory Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, The Exit Theatre, and Downtown Art Theatre. In 2017, he traveled throughout Thailand to document indigenous tribes. Idris is currently developing a photo series focused on survivors of sexual harassment in public spaces and will present this work at University Settlement in New York City as part of People Of Interest’s production of “Nohing.” His work has been published in Dance Magazine and Broadway World. www.idrisademola.com |
